With this year’s E3 only a few months away now, all of your favourite developers and publishers will be gearing up for unveiling their next big thing on the showroom floors. The question is, what kind of things will be showing up at E3 2011, and what announcements will be considered the biggest? Here is a short run down of expected and unexpected titles that could make your jaw drop at this year’s E3.

***Listing is not ranked.

10. Diablo 3

With eleven years since the previous Diablo, any footage and info of the third title will be worth checking out

This one has been in the running for a while now. With Activision Blizzard focused on other more lucrative prospects these days, they seem to have completely neglected Diablo 3 by delaying its release multiple times. Hopefully, they will make this up to series fans by showing of some more footage this June, as series fans have been left out in the cold for far too long. When they do, it will be awesome. Just take my word for it.

9. Fiv3

Heavy Rain pushed the boundaries of visuals and storytelling in gaming, and Fiv3 may well do the same

Not much is known about Fiv3 except for its title, which was trademarked by Sony and Quantic Dream very recently. Considering the pedigree it comes from though, if anything gets shown of Fiv3 at E3 it will definitely make its mark. With Quantic Dream constantly pushing the boundaries of gaming in terms of graphics and storytelling, it’s unlikely that Fiv3 will be anything but mind-blowing.

8. Max Payne 3

We're running out of patience Rockstar, give us more Max!

Yet another game that has seen a seemingly infinite amount of setbacks and delays. I certainly wouldn’t bet on seeing anything regarding Max Payne 3 at E3, but there’s a chance. Should said footage go out, it’s bound to be a breathtaking experience. Max Payne’s gritty, modern noire narratives have always scratched a certain itch that no other games can satisfy. Though it seems to be drastically altering some of the series’ mechanics, we’ll be happy to see more of Max Payne regardless. Bring it on Rockstar!

7. Hitman 5

With this being all we've seen so far, any proper footage of Hitman 5 will be appreciated

With the recent hints of a Hitman 5 lingering in the air, it seems probable that we’ll get some kind of announcement at E3 regarding the future of the series. Even if it’s just a little teaser trailer, it is bound to get fans excited. The Hitman series has always stood out in a sea of generic and thoughtless shooter titles. Just seeing the thinking man’s shooter back in action in any form will make this year’s E3 a very special event indeed.

Nah… I’m not alot excited for Modern Warfare 3. I’m just going to wait for the hype train to start, then when everyone has the chance to play it, the bashing train.

  • tareq salah

oh look , another call of duty.
i can say if there is a game that i will retire after playing it, it would be uncharted or a final resident evil.

  • you forgot to mention resistance 3

    • because it sucks……

    • tareq salah

i dont know if it does, but the graphics didn’t improve enough for me to consider it. and the multiplayer looked awful

  • Sky rim and uncharted 3 – that’s all i care for here.

    • PilarVIRUS

I care for everything on this list, expect CoD.

When Take Two turned in its financial reports Max Payne 3 was nowhere to be seen releasing in the next fiscal yr. That is not a good sign. I REALLY hope we get some news on the game @ E3.

  • Uncharted, new Batman game, possible new MGS, Mass Effect 3, Skyrim, Resistance, Fiv3, and everything that gets announced that we don’t know about will excite me more than MW3. CoD4 was the last CoD game I enjoyed

  • doub7

It will b interesting 2 c how MW3 turns out since nearly 40 members of IW left & joined Respawn @ EA. The new studio Sledgehammer Games is helpin out, it was founded by the guys who started Visceral & 2 my knowledge have no FPS experience.

  • Well, I think most of these games are (hopefully) a given to be fantastic, and talked about at e3, not sure about rockstar, but I think if they don’t talk about GTA V or max payne at e3 this year, (or maybe the agent if that still exists :p) then people will start getting really pissed off at them, even if it’s just a 30 second trailer or anything.

We’ll definatly see another call of duty, because this is activision were talking about, whether it will be MW3 is yet to be seen, and I think the big question is will it be able to make COD feel fresh.

  • doub7

Yeah what is up w/ Agent? Its big like 2 yrs since they even mentioned it. Since they lost the exclusivity w/ LA Noire as well maybe Sony & Rockstar’s relationship is not so good these days.

Kojiima has hinted @ sum E3 announcements so we may hear bout MGS 5. Fingers crossed!

    • tareq salah

i havn’t played 4, but i know that the story ended, am i right? if so what can they possible make 5 about?

  • is this what the future of video games coming to?? same rehash games over an over?? cod 10,uncharted 10,masseffect 10 so on same boring shit over an over. where is VARIETY???

    • tareq salah

i dont mind uncharted 10, but i mind any more COD.

    • Because there have never been sequels to popular games, right?

  • What a crock of crap this top 10 is. COD is the most overated series next to Halo. It’s not even in my list of 5 or 6 games Im planning on getting in the fall.

    Diablo 3
Dark Souls – sequel to Demon’s souls
    LA Noire
    Gow 3
    Elder Scrolls
damn there were 2 more I cant think of them now.

  • doub7

I agree that Resistance 3 should definitely b on this list. The graphics r drastically improved & the iron sights on all the weapons r way better. Think they even have melee weapons this time. The scaled back MP should b way more chaotic & action packed now. Plus they have more customization. Win!

    • tareq salah

i will wait on this game, the end of nathan hale wasn’t expected. he was quite a character and i wanted him to continue

  • LA Noire and Dead Island should have at least been honorable mentions.

    • tareq salah

specially dead island with all the buzz it generated.

  • Screw CoD. I’m interested in the rest at least somewhat.

  • And most of the games are shooters. What a shock. Looking forward to MEIII and Skyrim though.

  • tareq salah

i have a feeling it will sell. they are calling it modern war fare 3 just so fans can remember the second one and jump on it

  • doub7

MGS will continue w/ Raiden as the main character I am guessin. Didn’t care 4 him much in MGS 2 but he eventually evolved into a bad dude. The gameplay will b the same so that’s the most important thing. We need 2 hear more bout rising 1st tho…lol.

  • doub7

That’s a great list Husker. I am dyin 4 dark souls 2, demon souls it 1 of the best ps3 exclusives. I snagged a CE b4 they sold out & was really happy.

  • Nad
