37 Minutes Of The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt, Is 37 Minutes Well Spent

You can stop trying to sell me on this game, it's selling itself at this point.

By now, I would like to think you’re well and truly enraptured by the stunning land that we’re being teased with in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Well now you should be even more so, because this 37 minute long gameplay demo is amazing for so many reasons. First of all, there’s no prancing around the subject and using buzz words like many developers generally do, not in this video.

Straight off the bat we get reintroduced to Geralt of Rivia, our white haired, potion chugging, sword swinging, monster hunter from The Witcher. It’s hard to listen to the developer as he hosts the video though, purely because that skybox is so pretty. The world is just an absolute pleasure to behold, not to mention the fact that it literally does house thousands of inhabitants that you can see running around their little lives.

It’s not just the world that is detailed in Wild Hunt, the detail in the character models is (as you would expect) staggeringly high. Just once look at the links in Geralts Chain-mail is enough proof of that. But then you start to notice the smoke coming off candles, the ripples of each footstep mid sword swing (I was particularly impressed by that), the energy contrails of spells and sparks of fire. I think I should stop now, I’m getting a bit worked up.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is slated for a February 24th 2015 release window and it will be available on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.
