All Games With Xbox Gold Titles Going Forwards Will Be Backwards Compatible

So, twice the number of games for Xbox One owners every month!

Microsoft confirmed and reiterated its commitment to backwards compatibility for Xbox 360 games on the Xbox One in a big way at Gamescom this year, when they confirmed that all future Games with Gold games for the Xbox 360 will be automatically backwards compatibility enabled on the Xbox One going forward. This means that Xbox One owners have four games to look forward to every month now, instead of two- an effective way of countering Sony’s PS+, which often sees each individual platform get as many as six games, because of Cross Buy.

Backwards compatibility for the Xbox One launches this November, with a full 100 games being available to everybody at launch- major publishers, including Square Enix, Bethesda, and Ubisoft are on board, meaning we should see the bulk of the Xbox 360 library make it over to the Xbox One unscathed.

For those who are still holding out? Let’s hope they come around eventually.

Great news all around. What I’m wondering is for past Games with Gold I already have, I wouldn’t be able to download them onto Xbox One right? So I’d have to either trade in my system and lose all my games when put towards Xbox One or save data for them somehow or keep 360 since some of them I have, and others that I don’t own may not be able to do BC on Xbox One? Decisons, decisions.

It’s def not easy for many people. But I think Microsoft’s gonna work hard as heck to get as many of the old games brought over to the One. I’m lookin for SSF4 personally.

I’d like to think so too. For me I’d like confirmation that RDR, Far Cry 3, Bayonetta, and others that I’ve played or haven’t for BC on Xbox One. Numerous games I didn’t play on the system that I hope make it over soon after the program starts.

ALL games you have bought digitally or from Games with Gold on 360 will be added to Xbox One, as long as you use the same account on Xbox One as you have on 360 even if you sell the 360 your account history is all that matters.

As the games in your history become backward compatible they will be added to the download queue on the Xbox One.

So make sure you KEEP your account user name and password details that you use on 360 before you delete them off the 360 when you sell it.

Really? Awesome! That eliminates most of my worry. Now if I could just save enough in time for when it releases or before pre order sells out. Hope for Black Friday they possibly do a deal for it maybe if I can’t get it by time of release.

As for physical games though I guess there’s not much I’ll be able to do if some never get onto Xbox One, though I’m sure within the year after BC is enabled many more games will become compatible hopefully.
