Possible Mass Effect 2 DLC Day One?
1 CommentsPosted by Chris Vogt on January 17, 2010 under News
In a recent article by Joystiq, they reported on the possibility of day one Mass Effect 2 DLC. While nothing is confirmed yet, they also reported a DLC shop called the "Cerberus Network". This should come as no surprise to those who have played Dragon Age and found its DLC merchant. As I said however, nothing is yet confirmed. Later Bioware posted this on twitter: "Addressing rumors: BioWare... more. -

Darksiders Review

Darksiders is a lengthy and enjoyable adventure that will leave you satisfied. The Good: Great art design. Interesting story. Great voice acting. Good looking environments. The Bad: Unresponsive controls. Simplistic and drawn out puzzles. Not enough combat. Well the 2010 releases are beginning with heavy hitters right away. Darksiders is the much anticipated apocalyptic action game from V... more. -

With Game of the Year voting coming to an end very soon, I wanted to take the time to bring forth a few honorable mentions. While the staff as a whole decided our nominees, I feel there are a few other noteworthy titles that deserve recognition for being among the best games released this year. These games fell just shy of Game of the Year nomination. Borderlands Very few games this ye... more. -

The One-Year Cycle, Innovation vs. Expectation
6 CommentsPosted by Chris Vogt on under Editorials
Everyone knows to expect a new sports game every year, but what if there was a new Halo or Uncharted every year? This year at the Spike TV Video Game Awards, we saw the announcement of the new Batman Arkham Asylum, the sequel to a game that released just three months ago. There was no set date for release however, there is a large chance we could see the game in late 2010. The question I pose to y... more. -
Avatar The Game Review
3 CommentsPosted by Chris Vogt on December 19, 2009 under Reviews
While initially interesting, Avatar fails to deliver a worthwhile experience. The Good: Great Visuals. Good Voice Acting. The Bad: Boring Gameplay. Boring Set Piece Battles. Poor Story. Lousy Vehicle Controls. Bad Shooting Mechanics. Lacking Multiplayer. Avatar is set to become a box office smash, but does the game capture the same magic as the movie. If you read anything before this then... more. -
Gran Turismo 5 Academy Impressions

The Gran Turismo 5 Academy demo is out now on the PSN and we’re going to give you a run down of what to expect. Gran Turismo 5 is arguably Sony’s top exclusive of next year. The franchise has always delivered a visually impressive, tight controlled, chart busting, and critically acclaimed racing experience. From what I played in the demo it seems as though that strong tradition will continu... more. -

The Opinion Against the Consensus
3 CommentsPosted by Chris Vogt on December 11, 2009 under Editorials
It seems that every time an opinion is given that goes against what the masses believe to be true that person is a fool. Perhaps I was wrong to say that Dante’s Inferno had the potential to surpass a game that is similar to it. Perhaps, but I don’t think so. I think the problem is that people have closed their minds to anything that can change what they believe to be right. What if Dante’s I... more.

No God of War Will Keep Dante’s Inferno From Greatness

God of War III has some stiff competition as Dante’s Inferno is about as epic as they come. When talking about 2010 there are a few titles that immediately come to mind. Mass Effect 2, Halo Reach, and especially God of War III rank among the most anticipated. Having now played Dante’s Inferno I can say without a doubt that it not only deserves to rank up there next to God of War III, but it... more. -
Majesty 2 Review

Majesty 2 stands out as a unique take on the RTS genre but it does not offer anything else compelling. The Good: Lack of direct unit controls brings a new challenge. The Bad: Lack of control can unnecessarily increase difficulty. Steep graphic requirements. Unpopulated multiplayer. Quickly becomes repetitive and boring. Occasional crashes. Majesty 2 is the sequel to the acclaimed Majesty ... more. -
Happy Birthday Playstation!

It has been 15 years since the original Playstation hit the market and began to shape the industry into what it is today. To think it was originally planned as a disc based SNES, the deal was canceled when Nintendo chose to deal with Phillips rather than Sony mid way through development. Sony went on to produce the Playstation to compete with Nintendo. On December 3rd, 1994 the Playstation launche... more. -

This time around EA is bringing the franchise into the here and now as you will play as a member of Teir 1 Operators in Afghanistan. Teir 1 is the highest level of Special Operation forces. Demigod Review

Demigod is fun and frantic and will keep you coming back for more, but there is the unavoidable feeling that you are only playing half a game. However it overcomes this feeling by truly being greater than the sum of its parts. The Good: Fantastic art design. Great visuals. Simple yet deep character customization. Great multiplayer. Brilliant music. The Bad: Wasted premise considering lack ... more. -

The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned Review
5 CommentsPosted by Chris Vogt on November 25, 2009 under Reviews, Website
The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned is a funny though underwhelming piece of DLC that when all is said and done, isn’t worth your money. The Good: Very funny. Good looking environments. The Bad: Very short. Very repetitive. No new gear or items. Zombies are not challenging and are too few in number. Terrible frame-rate issues. Borderlands released last month to great reviews and a fan base mor... more. -
Assassins Creed Bloodlines Review
7 CommentsPosted by Chris Vogt on November 23, 2009 under Reviews
Assassins Creed Bloodlines is a very poor attempt at bringing Assassins Creed to the PSP and only succeeds at being more boring and repetitive than its predecessor. The Good: Good looking characters. The Bad: Derivative gameplay. Repetitive missions. Unintelligent A.I. Small and boring environments. Uninteresting story. Glitchy. Bland environments. Short. The odds are stacked against you ... more.
