Aaron Linde, who worked on Battleborn as its lead writer, will be leaving Gearbox Software. Linde has been a part of the studio for three years and has also worked on Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor as narrative design consultant.

The actual announcement of his departure came last week when Linde said, “Got some news, fellas! Tomorrow’s my last day at Gearbox. Absolutely love this team and am incredibly proud of the work we did together.”

As for his next job, Linde will be venturing to the Pacific Northwest. “Gonna be hauling back up to the pacific northwest in a week or so for an awesome opportunity I’ll talk more about soon. Ch-ch-changes.”

Perhaps a project that’s still closely under wraps? Nevertheless, despite the somewhat middling reception that Battleborn received, we wish Linde all the best. Also, Gearbox fans shouldn’t worry – the company already has a team put together for its next Borderlands project. Stay tuned for more information and let us know what you think of Linde’s departure below.
