Battlefield 1

Electronic Arts has revealed that Battlefield 1 will only be available digitally in North America for PC.

You can still pick up a physical copy but it will only include a download code, as the publisher confirmed to PC Gamer.

“Here in North America, there will be a PC box version that you can buy in stores that will have a code in the box and no disc. If you buy that same PC box version Internationally, some countries will offer a disc inside.”

Europe and UK will still have a disc with its physical version.

This isn’t the first time that the PC version of an upcoming game has only featured a download code. The most obvious game in this category is Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, whose disc only has the Steam installer and downloads the entire game. The upcoming DOOM will also require players to download roughly 45 GB of data to complete installation through Steam.
