Battlefield 4: DICE Reportedly Focusing Only on Current Gen Consoles

No plans for an Xbox 720 or PS4 version (currently).

Battlefield-4
Consider that this is supposed to be the next generation of Battlefield. Consider that when first revealed, DICE’s Battlefield 4 made our jaws drop with its outstanding visuals (even if the destructibility looked pre-scripted). Also consider that it’s running on Frostbite 3, and that Battlefield’s rival, Call of Duty, will be heading to the next generation consoles with Call of Duty: Ghosts.

Regardless, the developer has given no indication that Battlefield 4 will be coming to PS4 or the to-be-revealed Xbox 720.

On the official Battlefield Twitter, the developer tweeted that:

It could be that EA uses the announcement at E3 2013 to reveal Battlefield 4’s release on next gen consoles. It could also be that the developer has something special planned for the next generation. After all, given that the first gameplay footage of Battlefield 4 was on a high-end PC, wouldn’t it make sense to harness the power of the next generation to flaunt the engine’s true power?

Regardless, Battlefield 4 is currently slated to release for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 this Fall.
