Battlefield 4 Patch To Include “High Frequency Network Update” And CTE Fixes

An update released across all platforms.

It’s no secret that Battlefield 4 has been a disaster. The developers DICE have been working hard to fix several bugs and issues but there is no doubt that consumers have lost their trust in the franchise. However, DICE have pushed out a new patch that fixes a number of issues in Community Test Environment and includes the “High Frequency Network Update”.

Further fixes include Character collision improvements, client crash fixes and Carrier Assault game mode reports bug fix. The latest update is now available across the PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PlayStation 3. You can find the entire patch notes specific to each platform below.

On a related note, DICE recently stated that they won’t be turning their focus away from Battlefield 4 due to the recently announced Battlefield: Hardline.

  • Improved/reduced explosion induced camera shake
  • Character collision improvements
  • Fix to reduce object damage mismatch between client/server.
  • Fix explosion packs not being able to be shot sometimes
  • Improvements for client side packet loss
  • Client crash fixes
  • AMD Mantle multi-GPU improvements
  • Carrier Assault game mode reports bug fix
  • High Frequency Network update
  •  Added High frequency “bubble” updating player movement, stance, rotation, damage and projectiles at a separate rate on foot and in vehicles
  • Added option to control client side update rate setting

  • Reduced object damage mismatch between client/server
  • Fix for explosion pack not being able to be shot sometimes

  • Physics optimization for Naval Strike Wave Breaker rocks
  • Carrier: fix for invisible walls stopping bullets
  • Fix for issue where clients with low bandwidth would not be able to enter squad menu
