Bioware likes Skyrim’s sales, may “borrow” things for Dragon Age 3

Bioware who seem clueless after delivering three classic hits this gen, are after huge commercial success. What better way to do that than by copying Skyrim? Yes, the game that shipped 10 million copies. As you can see from the tone of this post, I’m quite angry and rightfully so.

They revealed the direction they’re taking the franchise to Wired.

“[The next Dragon Age] is gonna have the best of features from the prior Dragon Age games, but it’s also gonna have a lot of things I think players are gonna find compelling from some of the games that are out now that are doing really well with more of an open world feel,” said Ray muzyka co-founder of Bioware.

“We’re checking [Skyrim] out aggressively. We like it. We’re big admirers of [Bethesda] and the product,” he said. “We think we can do some wonderful things.”

Let’s hope Bioware actually pulls this off. Tell us what you think in the comments section below.

  • Bioware hasn’t made a good game since Baldur’s Gate 2 and its expansion. I can’t include DA 1 in that as I haven’t played it.

They’ve pruned themselves into a very talented writing and story company with only adequate gameplay execution.
