Call of Duty Black Ops 3 Is The Second Most Wanted Game In The US After Fallout 4

Quite an accomplishment as part of a game series that releases every year.

Call of Duty Black Ops 3

As we get closer to the release date for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 it appears the hype train is officially heading down the tracks. There are quite a few games that are going to be hitting store shelves in the next few months, and that means that games that are released every year like the Call of Duty series are generally facing some rather stiff competition. Despite that fact, it turns out that a new version of the series is the second most wanted game by the public.

This finding comes in a new poll recently released by Nielsen, with only Fallout 4 beating Black Ops 3 out. Part of the reason the game is slated to do as well as it is, is because the Black Ops arc is one of the more popular versions in the Call of Duty universe. The fact that it’s predecessor did very well, as the first version to be fully current generation helps as well. Still, with games like Star Wars: Battlefront and Halo 5: Guardians also hitting this fall, the massive popularity of Black Ops 3 is a bit surprising.

There wasn’t going to be any game that beat out Fallout 4 for the most anticipated. Bethesda managed to make sure that it will be an almost instant competitor for game of the year titles. The third most anticipated game might also surprise some people, as FIFA 16 also beats out Star Wars: Battlefront which finishes 4th and Halo 5 which clocks in at number six. Madden NFL 16 took the fifth slot, and Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, Super Mario Maker and Destiny: The Taken King rounded out the top 10. Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is due out on November 6, 2015.
