Capcom has detailed the mysterious upcoming Omega Mode that it will be adding to Ultra Street Fighter IV, its final-for-real-this-time-guys-we-promise update to Street Fighter, free of charge.

Within Omega Mode, all 44 characters in the game will receive brand new abilities; unfortunately, the mode will not be cross compatible with multiple of the new innovations and mechanics that Ultra Street Fighter IV brought with it to the table, such as ‘Red Focus’ or ‘Combo Double.’

These changes for characters will often entail thorough overhauls, some that series fans may find to be pleasant throwbacks to previous games in the series. For instance, Ryu will be getting a parry move similar to that of Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike. And he won’t be the only character being redone in such a way either, as Ken and Chun Li are also confirmed to get similar new moves.

To play it, you will find it listed under the ‘Editions’ Menu in Ultra Street Fighter IV.
