Deadpool: New Screenshots Showcase Cable, Death and Familiar X-Men Locations

He may be a loud-mouthed mercenary but he's got firepower.

High Moon Studios’ Deadpool finally buckles down and gives us a look at the game’s settings, along with other Marvel characters who will be making appearances throughout the third person action adventure. Oh, and guns are also showcased. Like, lots of guns.

While it’s cool seeing Cable and Death in updated and suitably bad-ass looking forms, it’s important to note what Deadpool’s involvement will be. The two actually held down an awesome comic book series “Cable and Deadpool”, which involved Cable’s island of Providence besides lots of other hijinx.

Then there’s the appearance of Genova, Magneto’s former mutant utopia, and settings where Master Mold, the gigantic Sentinel creating factory, can be identified. A Battle Dome area seems to indicate that Deadpool will be doing battle with Sentinels at some point.

Due to release this year for PS3 and Xbox 360, Deadpool shows a ton of promise in both action and story-telling terms. We’ll see if it can live up to that hype on release.
