Destiny House of Wolves File Available to Download on Xbox Store

Xbox users can apparently access an authentication file for the next Destiny expansion.

Bungie’s Destiny has been having its fair share of issues lately, what with raid glitches, controversy surrounding an upcoming weapons patch and the announcement that the House of Wolves expansion would be out in Q2 2015 (between April and June). However, for Xbox users, that last point might be a little confusing if they head to the Xbox Store and find a House of Wolves file available for download.

Currently limited to the Xbox Store, the file is 9.5 MB and seems to be an authentication file similar to the one seen when The Dark Below dropped. You can download the file but it won’t make any real difference – there aren’t any new levels, missions and such waiting.

Perhaps, as the video above from Arekkz Gaming discusses, it’s meant to prepare the game for some other update prior to House of Wolves? Of course, it could also just be the license for the expansion but why it’s popping up again for download is odd.

Stay tuned for more information and hopefully an update from Bungie in the coming days.
