Star Wars: Battlefront will be returning later this year, when DICE releases the third game in the beloved Star Wars shooter franchise. a lot of people hold fond memories of the first two games, and are eager to see just how much of those games will be returning in the new one.

One of these is the Instant Action mode, where players could select a character, a planet, and then get into some shooting with bots straight away. On Twitter, DICE confirmed that the mode will be returning in some form or the other in the new game.

They also confirmed that Missions will be in this game too, although they will be different from what players remember, and that players will still like it, taking the opportunity to also clarify that this game is not a sequel, but a reboot.

EA wont let dice do a real offline instant action because they are afraid it will cause players to loose incentive to go online where they make all their money. Beyond all the vauge doubletalk surrounding this issue right now, that is the kernel of truth. EA have no respect for offline gamers, they see them as cheapskates. Hence the intentionally gimped single player or “budget battlefiel/battlefront experiences”. Online gaming may be the sign of the times but when dices direct competition is supporting and respecting offline gamers, Im going to put my money there instead. And this is what ea/dice need to understand – they could be making so much more money if they just put the work into crafting good ai for offline MP because the whole offline community would be throwing money at them as well.

I would love to see dice do away with their on rails qte corridor no replay campaigns and reallocate those rescoursces to replace it with a true offline mp mode with bots, which has unlimited replay value. This way everyone can win, including dice and EA.
