The characters and mainstays have changed throughout the years for Nippon Ichi’s Disgaea series. But one thing that hasn’t changed is the irreverent humour that the series embodies, which all started with Laharl, Etna and Flonne. Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness serves as a sequel to the first game, and we can finally see what the three have been up to since the original’s release.

Check out the new screenshots Nippon Ichi released for the same.

Disgaea D2 will be adding some new intriguing features such as new classes, weapons, the ability to use monsters as mounts for special attacks and a revamped character creation mode that lets you instill a personality into your creation. This goes along with the Master/Student system, Item World and new combination attacks. Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness is scheduled to release for the PlayStation 3 on September 27th in Europe and October 8th in North America.
