The whole trend where major AAA game releases got companion apps on smartphones is, thankfully, mostly dead by now, but that doesn’t mean that companion apps can’t indeed enrich your game experiences sometimes. That is probably what Evolution Studios are hoping for, as they gear up to launch a new mobile app for their PS4 exclusive racer, DriveClub.

The app was actually discussed before – it’s supposed to be called MyDriveClub – and it will be launching some time in 2016. Evolution Studios also shared the happy news that they now have 50 developers working there- after the downsizing the studio suffered following the disastrous launch of DriveClub in 2014, that comes as happy news indeed.

DriveClub itself continues to grow and impress. Following the terrible 2014 launch, the game has been brought mostly back on track, and continues to get largely excellent post launch support and content. It’s a game that is definitely recommended to all PS4 owners- provided they have an appetite for racing games, that is.
