Dying Light Fans Will Now Get To Make Their Mark in Dying Light: The Following

It's like Miiverse, or Dark Souls, but actually useful!

Dying Light The Following

Techland have announced that they will be inviting fans to be included in an important story mission in the upcoming expansion for their hit parkour based zombie action game, Dying Light, The Following. The team is creating a unique mission that takes place inside an abandoned post office and wants fans to have their messages of distress, horror or bravery to be scattered around the level. The best of these messages will be picked and included in the game, along with full credit for their authors.

“We’ve already seen what fans can do when creating awesome stuff for us,” says Tymon Smektala, producer. “So we found a cool little way to let them actually be a part of the story and have their efforts and names appear in our game forever. Just no dick pics please.”

Of course, as an idea, this is not anything new- this sort of thing has been done by the Dark Souls game for a while now, and Nintendo has an entire online community, Miiverse, dedicated to this idea and made around it.

Still, it’ll be good to be playing through the level and run into an encouraging message, that’s for sure.

You can send submissions to the team via the Dying Light Facebook page here.
