With every E3 that comes and goes, rumours are bound to pop up about games that may be in development. Bethesda Softworks may be debuting Fallout 4. Square Enix may be debuting Final Fantasy XV (or at least re-debuting Final Fantasy Versus XIII). And for all the focus the team has on Battlefield 4, EA and DICE may actually have Battlefield: Bad Company 3 in development.

Alas, not only won’t we be seeing it at E3 2013 but EA has since laid rest to rumours that Battlefield: Bad Company 3 even exists.

This was made apparent in an official Twitter post today which stated, “We love the Bad Company series, but don’t have it in active development. Battlefield 4 is our main focus for the year.”

On the one hand, we love the Bad Company series and the utter personality of the characters mixed with the level of destructibility makes it one of the better single-player shooters to come along in a while. But that DICE is focusing on Battlefield 4, ensuring it’s of high enough quality, helps reassure us.

Battlefield 4 is currently slated to release on October 29th in North America for current and next-gen consoles.
