EA hiring for new Dead Space game

A new job listing by EA says Visceral Games is looking for a new senior development director, audio director and senior VFX artist to work on the “Dead Space franchise.”

“This is a major opportunity to greatly contribute to an exciting unique franchise,” says the job listing. “Visceral Games is seeking an experienced, highly motivated Development Director for the Dead Space franchise. The successful candidate will have experience in video game production, with proficiency in project and personnel management.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for video games, with an overwhelming drive to create a world class gaming experience for a AAA franchise.”

Earlier this year, EA said there’s room for improvement in the Dead Spacde franchise.

“The Resident Evil series was awesome, the early versions were phenomenal. [Capcom] did a good job of growing the franchise to a very large market,” they said. I think we still have some areas to grow with Dead Space in terms of trying to reach a broader audience without losing the quality and that survival-horror mechanic.

“That’s how we’re going to think about it as we think about Dead Space 3 and what we do next with the IP.”

What do you think? Dead Space 3? Or a Dead Space spin-off for the Vita/3DS/Wii U?
