European PSN Will Go Offline Wednesday Afternoon For “Scheduled Maintenance”

Posted By | On 09th, Mar. 2011 Under Industry News, News

PSN will go offline at 4:05pm GMT on Wednesday March 9th for just over 11 hours. Sony have said that you will still be able to play online, provided you login before the maintenance begins. Sony also stated that any trophies collected during the downtime will still be recorded, however they will not be added to your profile until the downtime has finished. It is not known if the US will be affected by anything similar.

I think I’ll just avoid playing it until tomorrow (the 10th) as I don’t want to take the risk, I have over 1000 trophies and would be devastated if because I was online at the wrong time something unexpected was to happen.

Thanks for the heads up, it is very helpful to know when these things are happening, I know they say it won’t effect trophies etc but accidents happen…

I’ll be on the safe side and stick to the Xbox for the next 24 hours I think.

haha nobody ever died being too safe haha. remember that one time when a whole bunch of ps3’s got messed up because sony screwed up the date and time or something? haha

Yeah the leap year glitch, I know a few people that lost their online account cos of that one. One of my friends had his account scrapped and had to sign up from scratch meaning not only had all his trophies gone but all his mates too cos he didn’t know all the user ID’s and some people he had met online so never managed to get back in touch with them.

Must admit I wish there was a way to save your online profile on your PS3 and in the back-ups cos there is nothing more frustrating than taking hours for your 1000+ trophies to download and reinstall from the PSN.
