Ex-Rare senior veterans form new studio, announce first Xbox Live title

Posted By | On 13th, Oct. 2011

Phil Dunne, Mark Edmonds, Ross Bury and Chris Tilston, former senior and respected staff members of Rare, have formed their own new studio called Starfire Studios, and have even unveiled their first ever title for Xbox Live in a publishing deal with Microsoft.

Their new game,  Fusion: Genesis, is a sci-fi game which has the players piloting a spaceship with twin-stick controls. The game will also have MMORPG (the devs say it will be “always connected”), various single player and 4 player co-op missions and eight player PVP gameplay.

A version for Windows Phone 7, called Fusion: Sentient, is also in development, but not at Rare. The developer for this version is not yet announced, but it is know that they will be able to link up.

The game, as mentioned above, will be published by Microsoft and is targeted for a release date later this year.

More information for the game can be found at its official website.

Stay tuned for more info.
