F1 Race Stars Demo Launching This Week, New Gameplay Video Released

Codemasters' next merges Formula 1 with cartoony caricatures.

Codemasters’ F1 Race Stars will be releasing on November 16th and bringing it’s own brand of “F1 meets Mario Kart” to consoles, but until then, erstwhile gamers can partake in the demo releasing today. Featuring single-player and four-player split-screen options for racing in Germany, gamers will be able to experience the action firsthand for XBox 360, PC and Playstation 3 (in Europe). North American gamers will have to wait till November 13th for their Formula 1 fix.

Players can choose froma variety of drivers including Jenson Button, Fernando Alonso, Sebastian Vettel or Kimi Räikkönen, and utilize different power ups for either altering the weather, trapping opponents via bubbles or speed boosts. Of course, this being F1, there will be pit stops to repair vehicles. There’s also a range of alternative routes, shortcuts and boost pads to encourage variety and strategy.
