Far Cry 3 Weapon Holster Mod

It’s a small tweak, but one that removes one of the big issues with Far Cry 3’s animations. For all the smoothness and polish of the game’s visuals, it’s a bit odd that you can climb and commit to other two handed tasks whilst still holding a massive rifle. This mod fixes that, creating a holster you use for your weapons while your hands are otherwise occupied.

The mod affects:

  • driving
  • swimming
  • use glider, wingsuit / parachute or zipline
  • use ladder
  • healing / syrenge (use medikit or other stuff)
  • collect any item with animation (like loot with corpses or collect any leaf, hide)
  • falling higher place (you damaged)

Far Cry 3 Ultra-Low Configuration Mod

A simple premise, but one that allows more people to enjoy FC3 at a higher frame rate. For those with lower end PCs, the ultra-low mod allows users to further lower shadows, draw distance and detail levels for a smoother gaming experience. Hell, this mod may even make your system compatible with Far Cry 3, even if you couldn’t dream of running it before.

The mod includes:

  • Multiple tweaks to draw distances and LODs
  • Tweaks to PostFX, including totally disabled SSAO and Depth of Field
  • Tweaks to shadows
  • Tweaks to reflections

Far Cry 3  Economy Mod

Another difficulty modifier, but one that effects the game economy rather than bullets or HUD elements. Enemies drop much less loot, syringes cost a hell of a lot more and weapons become available in the shop at very different times indeed. It builds up well to make you really feel strapped for cash at key points in the game, adding that extra layer of difficulty.

The mod has the following effects:

  • Economic changes
  • Reduced on-body loot money amount (NEW GAME required)
  • Reduced money reward for road encounter and slaves’ rescue from $50 per body to $20
  • Increasing cost of all recipes about at 3 times
  • all med and high syringe – x3
  • all low syringe – to 5, all sack – to 10, all holster – to 10
  • all elite gears now cost you of full large gear+quest animal part
  • Reallocated all guns’ unlock where it’s possible. i.e you won’t get sg500 until you’ll met it ingame
  • Increasing all crafted item capabilities via curve: 5-10-15-20 (flame tank and ammo pouch excluded)
  • Adeed Tribal Knife to shop (cost 0)
  • Slightly rebalanced weapons’ and ammo costs to make you feel not so rich boy
  • Now kevlar and health synergy will cost you $1000
  • Now you should pay for a full modded weapon, not for just mod (mod price+weapons price), i.e, you will buy silensed ak47 for $2150. That will force you to choose wisely of what do you really need.

Far Cry 3 Better Sights Mod

For instructions, check the description of the video over here.

Far Cry 3 gets a lot of things right that other FPS titles so crudely ignore or fumble over. Gun sights are not one of these things. It seems like such a small thing to pick up on but, in a genre where half your time seems to be spent staring down the barrel of a gun, having effective sights is kind of a big deal. Enter this particular mod that replaces the shiny abominations Ubisoft call sights in favour of something more… normal.
