FIFA 15 Has Insane Visual Detail

Uncanny valley.

FIFA 15 is the newest entry in EA Sports’ premier and leading football sim series, and it is faced with the unique problem of diminishing returns now more than ever- how does it keep itself appear different enough with each entry, each year, and thus warrant a purchase by its (ludicrously large) customer base? For now, it appears as though EA Sports has decided to answer that question by simply going for visual fidelity. Insane visual fidelity.

Not only will the characters look remarkably real thanks to a new lighting system, but also body rigging and a ridiculous amount of visual detail, such as being able to observe hair on the players’ body, as well as their chest rising and falling as they breathe.

Yeah, guys, you know, it may just be me, but I think this safely crosses the line into uncanny valley. And I don’t know if I’m just an old Luddite stuck in my ways, but holy hell, that’s creepy as heck.
