Final Fantasy 15

Despite problems that Square Enix has faced in the past, especially regarding the sales of Western properties like Hitman, Tomb Raider and such along with the massive amount of resources devoted to Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, president and CEO Yosuke Matsuda is incredibly upbeat about the future.

That future in question is related to Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts III, which will both be heading to the Xbox One and PS4 in the near. There’s not a whole lot we know about either game right now, especially regarding their release dates but while to Nikkei Trendy, Matsuda said he’s confident about both games. He also believes that Square Enix will be able to share more information in the coming months, especially at events like E3 2013.

He also believes that console RPGs created in the past for a global audience rather than a Japanese audience end up neither appealing to the West nor Japan. With that in mind, Square Enix will be focusing on delivering rich and powerful stories in the future since JRPGs appeal to gamers worldwide and not just to Japan.

Stay tuned for more updates on both Kingdom Hearts III and Final Fantasy 15.
