Final Fantasy 15 Development 65% Complete

And it is still coming along as expected.

Even though a concrete, final release date for Final Fantasy XV seems to be harder than a unicorn sighting, that’s not because of any issues going on behind the scenes- in fact, game director Hajime Tabata has confirmed that the development of the game is coming along well, that it is, in fact, on target so far. He even gave an estimate for how much of the game is done, saying that he thinks roughly 65% of the title is complete at this point.

Just as a reference point, he said that the game was 60% complete back in February, so it is a little troubling that only 5% worth of progress was made in over six months. Then again, I don’t know much about game development, so maybe this sort of thing is normal.

Tabata also confirmed that the number is not representative of the situation- more important is the fact that all the plans are now solidly in place for development, sales and marketing, meaning that as long as Square sticks to its road map now, there shouldn’t be any more delays.

Final Fantasy 15 will be releasing on Xbox One and PS4.
