While Square Enix seemingly continues to ignore demands for an HD remake of the popular Final Fantasy VII, it has somewhat suggested that it could arrive on iOS and Android some day. Of course, when they say “some day” they actually mean in several years.

Series producer Takashi Tokita recently spoke to ShackNews about the same and stated that, “Unfortunately, it’s not that it’s not impossible for us to develop Final Fantasy 7 for mobile. It’s that currently, space will be an issue. Phones won’t be able to contain the space it takes. It’s over a gigabyte. People are probably going to have to wait a few years.”

Which is funny because Square Enix will be bringing Final Fantasy Type-0 over to mobiles this Winter, and we’re fairly certain that won’t be just a couple of megabytes either. Regardless, would you be interested in FFVII on mobiles, should the tech allow for it? Let us know below.
