For Honor Guide – Leveling Up Faster, Customization Options, Collectibles, And More

For Honor is now out, and Ubisoft’s newest game is a surprising departure from tradition for them. The game is a mechanically deep and nuanced melee fighter, wrapped in the garb of a multiplayer arena shooter (sans the actual shooting), wrapped in the garb of a persistent online war simulation metagame. There’s a whole lot going on in For Honor, from the sheer number of modes, to how it is structured and laid out, to how many things you have to keep track of, to its moment to moment gameplay- and it can be easy to feel overwhelmed.

Thankfully, you don’t have to- that’s where we come in with this handy guide of ours. From leveling up faster, to learning about the classes in the game, to walking through the customization options in the game, to a guide for all the in game collectibles, to general tips and tricks, and of course, to covering some of the Achievements/Trophies, this guide covers everything.

You with us? Then let’s get started.

GENERAL TIPS AND TRICKS

There’s so much in For Honor that can totally swamp a new player- what are the various game modes, and how do they play differently from each other? How do the controls work? What are some good team strategies? Generally, what is the best way to master For Honor? How does the war metagame work? The videos we have selected for you below hopefully answer some of those questions for you.

LEVELING UP FASTER

Like all multiplayer games, levels and XP are the currency of repute in For Honor– your level basically is a reflection of how good and dedicated a player you are at a glance. As you level up, you also unlock and gain access to more options. You know how this works, levels in multiplayer games are fairly standard fare at this point.

If you want to level up faster in For Honor, then this section of the guide should help you out. The video below should help with some legal tips and tricks that you can use to maximize your XP and level gain.

CLASSES

There are four different kinds of classes in For Honor, and each is then adapted specifically to the faction that you use. These classes are Vanguard, Assassin, Heavy, and Hybrid. Respectively, they correspond to the following for each faction:

KNIGHTS:

  • Warden
  • Peacekeeper
  • Conqueror
  • Lawbringer

VIKINGS:

  • Raider
  • Berserker
  • Warlord
  • Valkyrie

SAMURAI:

  • Kensei
  • Orochi
  • Shugoki
  • Nobushi

CUSTOMIZATION

For Honor lets you spend in game currency (or real world money) on trying to unlock customization options for yourself, with more becoming available to you over time as you level up, and spend more and more time with the game. Customization in For Honor is almost a deep metagame all of its own- and if you need help with it, we’ve got you covered.
