Check out the various techniques that went into creating the live-action trailer.

The awesome live-action “From Ashes” trailer that Sony Computer Entertainment released for the upcoming God of War: Ascension stood out from the usual lot of gameplay trailers by going fully live-action. And it worked to a great extent, representing Kratos and his thirst for destruction – and soon, revenge – on his way to battling Ares in the main games.

SCE Santa Monica has released a few new Behind the Scenes videos that look at the key aspects behind the production of From Ashes, starting with the process of bringing Kratos to life in his truest and most brutal form.

The second video looks at the process for creating the Spartan army seen in the trailer.

God of War: Ascension will be releasing exclusively for PS3 on March 12th. It will serve as a prequel for the main series and introduce new aspects such as multiplayer to the series for the first time.
