God of War: Ascension’s buget was around $50 million budget – Report

Does it include marketing costs?

God of War: Ascension’s budget is reportedly massive, according to what lead producer Whitney Wade told 20 Minuten.

Now what he actually said was the figure was “a mid double-digit million amount.” So 50 million, then? Could be lower since they basically reused most assets from God of War 3, had awful music, and same-y animations for enemies.

OK, obviously I’m a bit salty here since I didn’t like the game that much but found it to be a decent God of War game, as my review here suggests.

If a game like God of War: Ascension has a $50 million budget–still a rumour, mind you–then things aren’t looking too good for next-gen where budgets are expected to increase.

We will send a mail to Sony and clarify this since the original source is a bit iffy and Google Translate can complicate things.
