Gran Turismo 6 may be coming on the PS3 and not the PS4

75 million user base is no joke.

This is interesting. Gran Turismo is PlayStation’s flagship franchise and apparently the sixth iteration in the long running series may not release on the PS4. It’s been confirmed that game is development for some time now and one of the biggest video games franchise will not be on Sony’s next gen console.

According to a report by GTPlanet, SCEE’s Senior Vice President Michael Denny has confirmed that GT6 will be releasing on the PS3.

“You look at the games coming out on PlayStation 3 this year, The Last of Us, Beyond, GT6…,” Denny said.

There you go. Denny has basically confirmed GT6 for the PS3 and that too with confidence. Considering he is the Senior VP, it can’t simply be a slip of the tongue.

Bringing Gran Turismo 6 on the PS3 makes more sense. Sony and Polyphony Digital will already have more than 75 million user base to promote the game. Or this might be a cross generation case wherein we will see GT6 on both the PS3 and PS4.

We will keep you updated on the story.
