Half Life 3 is Missing but Half Life 2: Episode 3 may be released this year

Gamestop list reveals the game.

We earlier covered a news about the PS3 release list where Dragon Age 3 was revealed to be releasing this year, in a Gamestop release list posted by someone on Reddit. It was also revealed in that list that Half Life 2: Episode 3 may be released this year.

Now this is a massive rumour because the list seems to be a placeholder. All the games are priced at $599, and in a way they only do that until they get the official confirmation from the publisher, or maybe not.

Half Life 3 is supposed to be called Ricochet 2, and that’s a tag name for the game which is in development at Valve for years now. People have been hinting that Ricochet is in fact the next Half Life and that word has been used a lot of times in interviews.

Half Life 2: Episode 3 if it exists would be interesting because of Valve going with a name from a game that was released in 2004. This kind of proves that the list could be a mistake but you never know.

Check out the list below.

This is great news, I’m so excited about Half-Life 3 !
    And I found this also : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uYfGETPWya8
Prob’ fake but I want to believe Half-Life 3 or Half-life 2 episode 3 will be released one day !!

I really want this to be true, but I’m not buying it. Valve’s said before that they’ve ditched the episodic model, so when the next HL game comes out, it’ll probably be HL3.

Also, the release date is the end of Q2 2013, I think it might just be a generic placeholder date. Some of the other games on that list have it as well.

  • Ryan Burkell

It’s not a placeholder its the price they get a bulk ammount of games for.

Try a little harder next time. This is a printout from a Norwegian game store (the date should be a dead giveaway), meaning the price is not 599 dollars…

    • Aditboy

Why a Norwegian store and why does the date give it away?

    • European countries use the date format DD.MM.YY and they also use commas instead of periods to separate decimals.
Norwegian is most likely just good math and knowing the exchange rate
