Unfortunately though, no ForgeWorld.

Rending past reports obsolete, 343 Industries officially announced the third DLC pack for Halo 4, the Castle Map Pack, to release on April 8th, Monday. The pack itself has been developed by Certain Affinity in collaboration with 343 Industries and contains three maps.

The maps in question are Daybreak, taking place amid military complexes in a mountain range; Outcast, taking place in an isolated outpost with tunnels and arches up the woozoo; and Perdition, an urban battleground. All three maps are of medium to large size so there’s plenty of opportunity for vehicular combat as well.

The Castle Map Pack will also provide 9 new Achievements, in total worth a 250 Gamerscore. Alas, there’s been no announcement regarding the return of ForgeWorld.

One can also look forward to a new playlist in War Games, which will allow for 6 versus 6 gameplay that emphasizes team play and objective combat. Check it out this Monday when the Castle Map Pack releases on Xbox Live.
