Halo 5 Guardians

There’s plenty we don’t know about 343 Industries’ Halo 5: Guardians especially as it pertains to the game’s campaign but various members of the development team are promising earth-shattering changes when all is said and done.

Franchise development director Frank O’Connor actually told Forbes that, “There are some elements of the story that are definitely there to surprise people.” Some of these surprises, he explained, are being teased out in the game’s live-action TV trailers, in which Master Chief is “dead.”

Of course, Chief isn’t so much dead as missing, along with the fellow members of Blue Team. For what reason no one knows…which is why Fireteam Osiris led by ONI’s Jameson Locke is sent to find him.

Creative director Tim Longo added that along with the chase that ensues between Locke and Chief that, “There are catastrophic, big events going on all across the galaxy when it comes to the Guardians.”

Executive producer Josh Holmes further stated that, “One of the things that’s most exciting about this story is through the course of your journey in Halo 5, you’re going to see the Halo galaxy change in really important ways and it will never be the same. On a truly galactic scale, things are transformed through the course of the story.”

Halo 5: Guardians is out on October 27th for the Xbox One. Thoughts on the story and the hype surrounding it? Let us know in the comments.
