Halo 5 Guardians: Xbox One Will Continue To Grow Due To Xbox Live And The Upcoming Shooter

Microsoft is predicting a comeback for its console, and I am inclined to agree.

The Xbox brand has made a remarkable comeback in the last two years, rallying from the disastrous reveal of the Xbox One at E3 2013, and slowly regaining gamers’ goodwill and trust, especially thanks to moves such as the inclusion of Xbox 360 backwards compatibility. And now, as the Xbox One enters a stretch where it will have its strongest exclusive lineup yet, Microsoft predicts that this kind of growth for the console will continue to grow.

During Microsoft’s financial conference call for investors and analysts, Chief Financial Officer Amy Hood expressed just that sentiment. “With the strength of Xbox and Xbox live, along with the launch of Halo 5 in october, Xbox will continue to grow both fans and profitability.”

I think that given Halo 5: Guardians, Forza Motorsport 6, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, and Rise of the Tomb Raider, she may just have a point- the Xbox One may be poised to start gaining on the PS4’s seemingly insurmountable lead.

They didn’t mention anything about the PS4.

Yeah, Microsoft sure has earned back trust by mimicing the PS4, doing 2 price drops, and lying about nearly everything. Those AA batteries in the controller sure are pro consumer, right? Xbox One still hasn’t received an exclusive all year, but yeah Halo is all that matters right?

Articles like these are a joke. Devoid of facts and reality but but full of hyperbole.

I know. The way this guy goes out of his way to **** on anything Microsoft you would think a bunch of Microsoft employees bent him over and took turns violating him while the whole office watched. He’s probably over on dualshockers doing the same Damn thing. The kids pathetic!

    • shane

They dropped the price once, the other didn’t come with the mandatory kinect.

    • Terminator

What does that have to do with what I said?

You’re clearly dumb. 0 exclusives? Sony ADMITTED they have less this year.

  • Jimmy DoneGood

The Xbox One has an overall better experience than any other consoles.

“disastrous reveal of the Xbox One at E3 2013”

This is inaccurate . You are confusing MSFT own televised XB1 reveal event which happened in MAy i believe, with their ACTUAL E3 showing that aired on june, a month later. XB1 E3 2013 was ll about games games games games games. 🙂

      He’s right.

Yeah, I suggest getting the PS4. Why you may ask?

The Xbox One is nothing but lies, false promises, and under deliver. The Xbox fanboys spend their time lying and being hypocrites trying to defend it’s slow UI, sub par game performance, and poor value.

    Do you want proof?

    – Microsoft is releasing a new UI that is basically copying the PS4 UI because the one that Xbox has now, is hated by most. But it will still probably be slower than the PS4 UI because of the slower RAM Xbox has.

    – Microsoft coppied Sony’s Instant Game Collection because Microsoft was ripping people off with Xbox Live for 13 years. Microsoft has also been copying PSN features. PlayStation Plus gives you more games and newer games. PlayStation Plus simply gives you more value. Free party chat and it offers original programming.

    – Microsoft has lied countless times about games being exclusive to Xbox One but end up going to PC. Xbox One has less exclusives and you can’t tell how many will go to PC. Halo and Forza are the only big ones left and those may even go to PC.

    – Microsoft tried to ban self publishing which hurts indie devs. They reversed it months later because indie devs are flocking to the PS4.

    – Xbox fanboys will try to tell you Xbox Live is better or more stable, but don’t be foolled by their lies. Xbox Live is down again today, and was down yesterday while PSN has been fine despite the more traffic PSN gets. You probably won’t see any Xbox fanboys reporting the outage or many sites reporting it because they like to cover it up and make Xbox Live seem great.

      flag em.

Which profile? Its always an endless barrage of damage control for sony or telling everyone how bad Microsoft is.

I think he belongs to a video game Ps4 colt! Reaaaalllllly needs Help!!

You mean cult, right? I agree with you though.

  • CDoubleV

This is some marketing bullshit. Don’t get me wrong, I love my xbox, but all they have going for them this fall is Halo. I’m sure Gears will do ok, but its just a repackaged game. MS needs to stop wasting resources on remakes and start making some new IP’s. Tomb Raider is going to be great, but who is going to play this after they complete the 10 hour campaign?….nobody. These are gamefly games for me cause I beat it, then I will never play it again. Tomb raider is not a console seller lol

This fall is all about Star Wars Battlefront and Halo 5. Many hours will be put in here. Making Tomb raider an exclusive is kinda dumb, its not the kind of game that will make people buy an xbox, regardless of how great it is.

      Did you miss this E3?

  • Deacon1979

They have dropped the price by removing kinect (which was said to be essential and couldn’t ever be removed at the time), then dropped the price again so its now close to £150 cheaper than at launch, they have included free games, added backwards compatibility and have had the stronger fall line up last year and this upcoming year etc and have only managed to be ahead 2/3 months over the past 2 years (and then only really in the US).

How does that translate to “The Xbox brand has made a remarkable comeback in the last two years”?

    • GamerJudge

Just think about it this way: The Xbox One could have been the Wii U.

  • CDoubleV

Yes, your right. I did forget Fallout, but when it comes to new IP’s, most of these we haven’t really seen much from. I will say, ReCore looks to be the most interesting in my opinion and I’m exited to see what it might turn out to be. Quantum break will be a fun play through, but that’s just like Tomb Raider….awesome game, really awesome…but there isn’t much longevity there. We will see, I could be wrong, but it just doesn’t seem that way.
