Hideo Kojima To Receive Industry Icon Award At This Year’s The Game Awards Show

Kojima to be awarded yet again.

Hideo Kojima

There’s very little doubt that Hideo Kojima is a bonafide icon in the video game industry. The man who is best known for his work on the Metal Gear series was unceremoniously dumped by Konami, the company he’d worked for, for years towards the end of 2015.

The parting was uncomfortable enough that the entire video game industry was talking about the split for months after it happened. Since that split, Kojima has certainly managed to pick himself up and dust himself off, most recently joining the board for the VR Firm Prologue Immersive.

The Game Awards producer and creator, Geoff Keighley announced Kojima was getting this honor on his twitter account earlier this week. You’ll get to watch Kojima collect his award at this year’s Game Awards Show when it airs on December 1, 2016.

Furthermore, Hideo Kojima is also working on Death Stranding, a timed exclusive for the PlayStation 4. Perhaps The Game Awards even will show more of that game?
