Rumours abounded that the UK release of Apple’s upcoming iPad 2 would be delayed on account of the recent natural disasters in Japan.

As many of the iPad’s components are sourced from Japan, there were concerns that the gadget would be delayed. An Apple spokesperson has confirmed that the UK will not be affected by any delays, stating that “everything that is on the website still holds true; the website says 25 March and that’s when it’ll be.”

  • most companies haven’t really been affected by the tsunami in Japan which I find kind of weird. “Made in Japan” seems to be printed on alot of products but I guess they prepare for such disasters as this.

These things are made weeks before they are actually released. They probably had them made before the earthquake. They had the 360’s made 2 months before they released.

I’m almost certain that the ipad 2 has been in development since January. I know I have sen mock ups for IPAD 2 skins from developers as far back as December… So I’m willing to bet that they have had all their stock for the 2011 season made as far back as the end of February.
