iPad 3 and iPad 4 to release in March and October respectively – report

Posted By | On 06th, Jan. 2012

So, uh, it seems like Apple might be going with a weird strategy. It is reported by Digitimes that iPad 3 will sport a 1536 x 2048 pixels QXGA screen and will be reasonably priced.

But we already, sort of know all this, right? What caught our eye was that, iPad 4 is scheduled to be released in October, and in the same year i.e. 2012.

What could Apple possibly gain with this strategy? Well, with iPad 4, it will easily compete with the quad core devices slated to release in the latter half of 2012.

Two iPads in one year? It seems ridiculous but it is certainly possible. Then we have the iPhone 5, which is scheduled for October as well.

“The 9.7-inch iPad 4 is expected to come with much upgraded hardware specifications and integrated applications so as to compete with an array of Android-, Wintel- or WoA (Windows on ARM)-based tablet PCs to be released in the fourth quarter,” said sources close to Digitimes.
