Killer is Dead Debut Trailer Rocks Your Socks Off, Then Stabs Them

The story of "love and execution" blazes a slick trail.

Grasshopper Manufacture has released a new trailer for the Suda 51-directed Killer is Dead, and it is slick as hell.

Scheduled to release in Japan this Summer for PS3 and Xbox 360, the trailer combines the aesthetic of Sion Sono with over-the-top violence on the level of Tokyo Gore Police. We get a peek of Mondo Zappa, the supposed “main character” describing this as “a story of love and execution” when he’s not stabbing dudes and blowing them away with his mechanical arm.

Various mechanics can be seen within the trailer, including an evade system, and what appears to be some form of Bullet Time where everything goes stark black and white as Mondo slices it up. A boss battle is also seen, along with the game’s main antagonist Victor.

Did we say it looks slick as hell? Well it does.

At the end, we get an interesting little anime-like bridge where Mondo describes what to expect in the next episode: A beautiful woman with devil hands. See it all go down above.
