Yes, 1800p.

Killing Floor 2

Looks like Killing Floor 2 will end up utilizing Sony’s Checkerboard rendering technique for its PS4 Pro version. While the game won’t run in 4K, even upscaled 4K, on Sony’s new console, PS4 Pro owners will still get a variety of visual enhancements that will be unavailable to standard PS4 owners.

The enhancements include a resolution of 1800p with Checkerboard rendering (3200×1800, optimized for 4KTVs), supersampling and increased frame rate (though how that will work is unclear, given that Sony mandates frame rate parity for multiplayer games across PS4 and PS4 Pro), and Ultra textures. On the whole, it’s promising to be a noticeable visual step up from the standard PS4 version of the game, at the very least.

You can check out a trailer for the PS4 Pro version of the game in 4K below. Killing Floor 2 is set to launch on PC and the PlayStation 4 family of consoles on November 18.

They already said PS4 Pro cant handle 4K, except for indies and some AA’s…then why bother writing articles about resolution?

    • Mr Xrat

Because they make Xgimps like you so frustrated and upset.

    • Triton

Frustrated and upset for a weak PS4 Pro?
Yeah that makes sense in La-la-land…
I actually enjoy reading your salty comments and your fake sock account likes are proof of you being a fraud. =)
Keep beating that dead horse hahaha.

Blows out the PS4 and Xbone.
Has the market to itself for a year.
Only games Bone is doing 4K is indies and MS games.

    • Nintengods

1800P and framedrops to 20FPS on medium PC settings with low texture settings, no texture filtering or any of the graphical effects on PC like NVidia Flex (Which works with AMD cards). So this is the P$4 Prolapse…Woah.

Watching Sonycucks go into meltdown after the Switch obliterated any reason to own any P$4. Sad. Really sad.

  • Luke Skywalker

So the native resolution is 1800p or checkerboard up scaling brings it to 1800p from a lower native? That’s not really clear in the article.

however, as long as it looks good then people shouldn’t really complain.

    • Eliezer Barreto

Is 1800p and then they use checkboard rendering to get to 4k. Lol why People still calling checkboard rendering =upscale lol. Upscale strecth the image, CB not.

    • Luke Skywalker

it actually is upscaling. explain how it is upscaling.

  • Terminator

Wow this game isn’t even that demanding. Oh well.

The PS4 PRO is weak that’s why

  • Reclaimer13

    1800p is the new 900p.

    • Mr Xrat

      Xgimp tears are the new…

Oh wait, they’re the same they’ve always been.

    • Reclaimer13

That’s lame asf bro. You guys all share one brain and that’s the best you can come up with?

    • Nintengods

Sonycuck tears are vintage and still being produced to this day

No surprise there’s going to be a lot of people trying to convince customers that 1800P and 1440P looks like 4K over the next few years including crazy Mark Cerny trying to convince people it’s really 8.4TF.

Kek. Sonycuck tears. Always nourishing. Always available.

  • Riggybro

“Weird” inbetween resolutions have been pretty common for the last few gens.

I say get used to it.

If developers are smart they will do the same with Scorpio too.
Using up all that power to get to the “magical 4K” is a waste of limited resources in my opinion when 1440p (or somewhere in between) is clearly acceptable to a market that is currently quite happy to play 720p to 1080p.

    • Clint Hoffman

1080p is sufficient. All the extra resources should be poured into more detailed and faster paced environments.

    • kee1haul

Do you walk when someone offers you a ride?

    • kee1haul

      4k or death!!

Okay so almost 1080p resolution was bad for Xbox One but almost 4K resolution is good for the PS4 PRO

    Gaming Hypocrisy at its best

    • Eliezer Barreto

Is not the same, xbox one upscale, pro is using checkboard rendering not the same.

    • Luke Skywalker

oh it’s not the same? why don’t you explain what is checkerboard rendering and at the end of it explain how it is not a form of upscaling an image from a lower resolution. go ahead, try.

    • Mr Xrat

MS could have easily put out a 1080p console in 2013 for $499.

Neither can easily produce a 4K console in 2016 for $399.

      Keep up the tears, Kirk.

  • Mr Xrat

Just like the OG PS4, they’ve got the price-to-power ratio right.

If only MS could do better than the Pro could this year. Oh right, they’re struggling to make their old turd appealing.

    • Nintengods

Medium settings and massive drops. Looks like the Prolapse is worthless and underpowered.

Meanwhile Nintendo Switch has the right power, right features and will have the right price with a P$4 destroying custom Tegra based on Pascal in it.

Going to be hilarious watching all that damage control.

      “B-b-b-buh 1800P looks like 4K, right?”

  • Tomaterrrx

I’m hoping games on PS4 Pro will have different settings because all my TVs are 1080p so those pixels don’t matter to me.
