Metal Gear Online 3 Supports 16 Players for Current Gen Consoles

Previous gen versions support up to 12 players only.

Kojima Productions’ online component for Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, namely Metal Gear Online 3, will allow for up to 16 players on PC, Xbox One and PS4. This is according to the game’s official website. Videogamer also reports that the Japanese version of the site confirmed up to 12 players for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions.

Metal Gear Online 3 will launch alongside The Phantom Pain. Footage of the online mode has showcased Big Boss with a team of soldiers invading a base controlled by Revolver Ocelot and his team. Various skills are utilized including decoy puppets, vehicles, and CQC techniques. There are a number of different skins to choose along with a number of different multiplayer modes.

Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain will be out on September 1st for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3 and PS4. The PC version will be out on September 15th.
