Eye patches are cool, I’m going out to buy two…wait…

I’ve been saying it for years, and I hold firm in my belief that Hideo Kojima is a frigging genius-lunatic hybrid. How you you make on of the roughest, gruffest, most loved badasses in video game seem like an average guy? You give him an adorable little puppy and let it lick his face. That’s how. And we’re not talking about Call of Duty’s dog, I’m talking about the “I need to pet that, right now” type of dog.

Named DD (Diamond Dogs…get it?) our furry friend looks more like a wolf than a dog, but good god damn there’s a slow motion shot at 1:46 that just shows all the signs of how good old basic cinematography can be used to help easily work something into a narrative. By the way. The dog/wolf/whatever it is has an eye patch. That makes it cool, so deal with it.

In other news, Kojima has given a teeny tiny little bit of information regarding the characters motives in the latest MGS. He says, “Snake and Kaz are hungry for revenge, Ocelot is more neutral”

It will be interesting to see how this all pans out. Stay tuned.

Morally boycotting this game due to bad value for money demo they ripped gamers off with.

Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeros was not a demo it was a seperate game from Metal Gear Solid 5: Phantom Pain. It was also the conclusion of the Peace Walker storyline. Not only that but depending of what console generation you bought Ground Zeros on it was only 20 to 30 dollars compared to the average 60 bucks you would spend on a game. Sure you can beat the game fast compared to other Metal Gear games, but they included bonus content. Ground Zeros was not a rip-off, it was made to end the Peace Walker storyline and to give a feel for open world Metal Gear. Get over it.

yeah i agree. i think kojima did the same thing with mgs 2 as initially the prologue with snake in that game was separate from the main game. plus ground zeroes is meant to be replayed to show how a mission can be different. i think the main mission is like an hour long with the 4 side ops at least around 10 mins each. theres an extra mission “deja vu” which you need to collect the XOF patches for.

D.D. is so adorable as a puppy! Hes also very cool looking when fully grown, especially with that eye patch.

The dog/wolf/whatever is actually a wolf hound. Even Solid Snake said it himself in MGS1: Wolf hounds..half wolf-half husky.

Now I’m wondering if the wolf/dog will be roaming around Mother Base, just like the special staff recruited. If so, I wanna be running around to see it if follows me or if there is some way to interact with it.
