Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain: New Screens Show Motherbase Color Customization

As expected, this is looking amazing.

Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain

I keep calling Hideo Kojima insane and amazing in equal measure. I mean it as a term of endearment, and I really do mean it. Recently, Kojima took to Twitter once again to show off some of the more amazing aspects of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. It was last year at E3 that we discovered that players could choose to customise Mother Base. This customisation included the rig’s colour scheme, which was shown to be grey and blue when it made its Gamescom appearance in 2014.

So what did Hideo Kojima, the father of the Metal Gear series, decided to do with Mother Base recently? He painted it entirely pink of course! Simply tweeting out, almost childishly, “Painted my Mother Base pink” and then showing us how it looks after dark, saying “This is how it looks when sun’s gone.” The game is shaping to be one of the best looking games of the year, something that is to be expected from a Metal Gear Solid game.

Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain is due for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. The exact release date is not announced yet but it’s confirmed for a 2015 launch.
