Bullet time battle.

As I said yesterday, the sheer rate at which we are getting new footage and information for Kojima’s upcoming magnum opus makes me afraid that by the time the game actually comes out, there will be nothing new left for us to uncover (something similar happened with 2008’s Wii exclusive Super Smash Bros. Brawl).

That is now, however, stopping Konami from making daily new updates. Today’s new gameplay trailer shows us the Reflex Mode, and how it factors into gameplay. It seems to be an iteration of the Bullet Time concept, giving players a few seconds of slowed down time to react and get into an advantageous position after they are discovered. Hopefully, it is balanced well, and not overpowered.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be launching on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC on September 1. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for further coverage and information on the game.
