Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain: Quiet Is A Tough Character Who Does Not Depend On Men To Save Her

She's quiet, but silence speaks volumes.

It goes without saying that Quiet caused one hell of a controversy when she first appeared on the scene. Naturally it was because of her clothing, or lack thereof, but most were willing to look past that aspect of the character and ask what kind of person she was.

Since then, we’ve learned interesting little things about Quiet. Some important, others not so much. But one of the most important character qualities is her inability to speak. Stefanie Joosten, the vocal performer for Quiet, has said that, “She does use certain sounds to communicate, she groans and hums. So I voice recorded those things.” She also revealed that there’s a reason for her decidedly lack of clothes, but Joosten has said, “I cannot reveal it yet.”

Luckily, Joosten also says that Quiet is a tough character, she doesn’t need the big strong army men to tell her what to do and she doesn’t need their help, which is awesome. If there’s one thing I can’t stand, it’s the weak women characters that are only there as a plot device. Give me a lady of action in my games.

One of the reasons Joosten got the role of Quiet was she was able to draw on her time playing action games. I like her style and I think that as more information on Quiet comes to light, she’ll grow into a fan favourite.

Thanks, Metalgearinformer.
