Metroid Prime 4 Will Take Inspiration From The First Game, Will Focus On Exploration and Isolation

This is sounding better and better.

Not much is actually known about Metroid Prime 4, the long awaited next entry in the Metroid series that Nintendo officially announced earlier this week as part of their E3 showcase. The announcement as just a logo, some music, and a confirmation that the game is coming to the Nintendo Switch. However, we now have some new details- scant ones, but we have them.

Metroid Prime 4 will apparently take inspiration from the original Metroid Prime game on the Gamecube. With a rating of 97, Metroid Prime is one of the highest rated games of all time, and is widely regarded to be one of the greatest games ever made. The sequels each went in different directions, and could never quite recapture the magic of the first game- so this is already good news. Nintendo has also confirmed that the new game will focus on isolation and exploration- so anyone who was afraid that they might make it linear or narrative focused again, like Metroid Prime 3: Corruption or Metroid: Other M, can take solace from that.

All in all, this sounds great. I hope we get to see more of the game some time soon.
