Sony are launching the PlayStation 4 Pro this November for $399. This gives PlayStation a head start of one year before the Xbox Scorpio launches next year and given its affordability, it’s sure to sell like hot cakes. Furthermore, Microsoft’s Scorpio is shaping to be a “premium” device something that many are assuming to cost a lot more than $399.

However, is that really the case? In an interview with EuroGamer, Microsoft’s Albert Penello was asked twice about the Scorpio’s price point and on both occasions he dodged those questions. “Well, we haven’t announced the price yet, so we’ll see,” he stated in the first instance and when pushed for more information on whether the PS4 Pro will be cheaper than Scorpio, he replied with the following: “It will be an interesting discussion next time we chat.”

It’s obvious that Microsoft won’t comment on a product that is more than a year away but Sony will most likely cut down the PS4’s Pro price down to $350 in late 2017 making it an even better proposition than the Scorpio. Microsoft needs to launch Scorpio at $399 to make it a viable option for players looking to upgrade.

Lol it’s a year away , you mean to tell me they have the price for a device that’s a year away already?

Even if Scorpio is 100 dollars more. It’s gonna be worth it getting all that power of true 4k gaming with consoles. Unlike fake 4k on PS4 Pro.

All those low textures and 30fps, now 2160p instead of 1800p. Oh, and no exclusives. What a shame.

Xgimps still in price denialism? Regardless, it could be $2000 and they’d still swallow it whole.
