Microsoft Launches Major Improvements To UWP On Windows 10

The changes lift constraints gamers have complained about for a while.

As of May 10, Microsoft has announced some rather major improvements to its Universal Windows Platform (UWP). The company has said there is now support AMD Freesync and NVIDIA G-SYNC, as well as unlocked frame rates.

Gamers who have been complaining for a while will likely be relieved their concerns have been addressed. Certain gamers have been talking about problems that comes along with a number of AAA titles on UWP. Those gamers have reportedly been far too constrained.

“As a direct response to your feedback, we’re excited to announce the release today of new updates to Windows 10 that make gaming even better for game developers and gamers,” Microsoft’s Bryan Langley wrote a post on the DirectX Developer Blog. This move appears to be just the latest in what Microsoft has hinted will be a long line of improvements to the Universal Windows Platform. We’ll have to stay tuned and see what else the company has in store.
