Phil-Spencer

Microsoft has announced a Windows 10 event for quite a while now- this event is what is going to be the public unveiling of the next generation of Windows, after the largely disappointing Windows 8 family. And we have also known for a while that gaming will be a big focus during this event, with announcements related to both, PC gaming and Xbox gaming expected. This, coupled with the fact that we already know Windows 10 will have some deep Xbox integration, and you can see why we all have reason to be excited, right?

Right. Well, ahead of January 21 (which is when the event will be held), here’s some more news for you that should get you pumped: while new game announcements are not confirmed to be the focus of the show, they will show off the platform and capabilities, Phil Spencer confirmed. He also confirmed that major news for both, Xbox and Windows, would be coming.

Alright, sounds good. I’ll buy one ticket for the hype train, please.

Why don’t you buy a ticket to ‘FANBOY LAND’ I have never seen an article that is supposed to be a positive , become so negative with sarcasm when it comes to Sony articles as you do with MS articles …. all of the question marks are really childish and immature …

windows 8, released in 2013 and have passed over 200 million license sales to date. MS made money. But yeah that tile stuff for a desktop was a bad idea. I’m glad they are listening to end users and giving us what we want.

As for the upcoming event. I’m tempering my expectations. I’ll be happy if they announce, one purchase on any windows 10 device can be accessed across all your other windows devices, scalable games that are the result of smarter rendering tools. Code once for all devices saving devs massive time and money. Lots of Virtualizing talk.

Big news would be a Steam app for the XB1. It is running windows 8 and soon to be windows 10 after all. Its a bona fide PC. But like I said, I’m not putting my hopes high.
