Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate will be the western translation of Monster Hunter 4G, the expanded version of Monster Hunter 4 that launches in Japan this year. The new game expands on the (already voluminous amount of) content that was available in Monster Hunter 4 vanilla, and represents the first time the west gets to go hands on with the fourth generation of the series, so it’s pretty exciting and everything.

Monster Hunter may not be the big seller in the west that it is in Japan, but it does have a vocal, cult following, something that Capcom seems to understand, as they have announced a limited Collector’s Edition of the game for North America. The collector’s edition includes an exclusive Gore Magala figure, a felyne wearing Gore Magala armor Pin, a monster icon lanyard, a cleaning cloth, a copy of the game, and all of this swag coming in a very beautiful collector’s box, and all of it for only $60. Sounds like a pretty nice deal to me.

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate launches exclusively on the 3DS next year. Stay tuned.
